Whipped Shampoo

Shea Butter is a rich, thick, soft butter made from the seed of the shea fruit. It is rich in fatty acids & vitamins A & E. It is intensely moisturising & conditioning, has skin & hair regenerative properties. Shea butter is shown to have anti-inflammatory properties that can restore impaired barrier function of the skin. For hair care products, shea butter restores skin & lustre to hair but also provides lasting moisture.
Fractionated Coconut Oil is coconut oil that has had the long chain triglycerides removed to create a lightweight liquid oil. Fractionated coconut oil is lightweight, nourishes dry or damaged skin & hair, & is reported to protect against harmful UV rays.
Oat Kernal Oil is a luxurious, nourishing oil derived from Avena Sativa (Oats). It is high in oleic & linoleic acids, glycolipids & vitamin E. Oat oil is an ultra-light, non-comedogenic oil that absorbs quickly into the skin & is said to be particularly effective on dry skin & hair. High in Ceramides Oat oil can act as a barrier against UV rays. Oat Oil is reported contain anti-inflammatory properties, act fast on dry or irritated skin & encourage hair growth & shine.
Panthenol (Vitamin B5) is a vitamin that is fantastic for skin & hair care. It helps with softness & elasticity & is anti-inflammatory. It is small enough to penetrate the hair & moisturise it, making it softer, shinier & reducing static.
*Hydrolysed Oat Protein is a naturally derived, water-soluble form of oat protein. Known for its soothing and protective qualities, this multi-functional ingredient helps calm irritation, support skin elasticity, and deeply hydrate both skin and hair. It helps retain moisture & boosts hydration & can relieve itchy or inflamed skin.
Arginine is an amino acid with moisturising, skin conditioning & barrier boosting properties.
Vitamin E oil a full-spectrum antioxidant derived from non-GMO soybean oil, contains 70% tocopherols which are natural antioxidants that help to maintain healthy cells.
*Vegetable Glycerine (palm free) is a vegetable derived natural ingredient that is hydrating & healing for the skin. It has emollient-like properties, which can soften & soothe the skin, & also works as a humectant assisting to retain moisture in the skin.
* BTMS- 50 is a multitasking ingredient it helps oils & water mix together, it conditions, it is mild & gentle on skin. BTMS-50 bonds to the hair, smooths down cuticles leaving hair detangled, frizz free & silky. While BTMS-50 is derived from natural oils it is not considered 100% natural because of the processing it undergoes.
Colloidal Oatmeal Colloidal Oatmeal, also known as Avena sativa (oat) flour, is a premium natural ingredient highly valued for its skin-soothing properties. This finely-milled oat flour helps create a protective barrier on the skin, attracting moisture and reducing irritation, making it ideal for sensitive, dry, or irritated skin.
Distilled Water is used in the formulation due to its absence of contaminants.
*Cocamidopropyl Betaine is a mild amphoteric surfactant derived from coconut oil. It is highly valued for its foaming, thickening, & conditioning properties. It is known for reducing irritation from other surfactants & offering moisturizing & humectant benefits to the skin & hair. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is mild and gentle on the skin, making it suitable for sensitive skin. Cocamidopropyl Betaine is derived from coconut oil & undergoes synthetic chemical processing. It is considered a semi-synthetic ingredient.
*Stearic Acid is a long-chain saturated fatty acid primarily derived from vegetable sources. It is used to thicken & stabilise formulations. Stearic acid forms a protective barrier on the skin, locking in moisture and improving hydration levels. It also enhances manageability and smoothness, helping to reduce breakage and improve hair shine.
*Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate is a mild, coconut-derived surfactant that offers gently cleansing without irritating the skin. It generates a rich, creamy lather. It is sulfate-free, sustainable & eco-friendly.
*Geogard 221 (Dehydroacetic acid (DHA), Benzyl alcohol) is a preservative used in cosmetics and toiletries. Geogard is one of the most widely used & accepted preservatives for cosmetics. It is based on organic acid chemistry to provide effective microbial protection & is eco-friendly. It meets COSMOS & ECOCERT requirements as a synthetic preservative in ecological & organic certified cosmetics.
Chamomile Essential Oil is a fantastic essential oil for hair, it is known to add shine whilst being softening & soothing to the skin.
Rose Geranium Essential Oil has a lovely sweet yet floral aroma that has a rosy-herbaceous undertone. It is reported to have properties that work to help the skin’s ability to heal from environmental factors such as UV damage. It is also reported to have anti-inflammatory & analgesic properties.
Lavender Essential Oil has a wonderfully sweet, floral & herbaceous aroma. It is reported to have naturally occurring antioxidant, antibacterial, & anti-inflammatory properties.
Tea Tree Essential Oil - Sourced from the Australian native Melaleuca alternifolia tree. This natural oil contains over 100 natural compounds, primarily terpenes, which give it remarkable antibacterial, antifungal & anti-inflammatory benefits. Tea Tree Oil can naturally fight bacteria & fungi.
Lemongrass Essential Oil - Like Tea Tree Oil Lemongrass has natural astringent & antibacterial properties & can naturally fight bacteria & fungi.
Cedarwood Essential Oil - consisting of a woody, warm, rather balsamic scent, with a sweet, honeyed note. Cedarwood Essential Oil is prized for its wide range of therapeutic properties, including anti-fungal & antiseptic.

Thoroughly wet your horse.
Scoop out a blob (a little goes a long way) of Whipped Shampoo onto a loofah or sponge (use a dry finger or spoon to avoid getting water in the tub) & dampen the shampoo.
Work the Whipped Shampoo into a luxurious, creamy lather over the coat, mane & tail. Add a little more water if not creating a lather.
Rinse well, ensuring all shampoo is out of the coat, mane & tail.
Follow with using Mane, Tail & Coat Care Multi-Purpose Oil as a hot oil to add even more oils back into the coat & skin.
To extend the life of your whipped shampoo please do not add any water into the tub.
CAUTION
Avoid Contact With eyes.
It is always a good idea to patch test before using a new product on your horse & discontinue use if a sensitivity is found.

I handmake the Whipped Shampoo from scratch using ingredients sourced within Australia.
The Whipped Shampoo is preserved with Geogard 221 to provide effective microbial protection & has a shelf life of 6 months. You will find a best before sticker on the bottom of the packing. Please take note of this as it may get damaged by water when you are washing your horse!

Please note whilst the pH of the Whipped Shampoo is suitable for dogs the following essential oils are not suitable for dogs tea tree, lemongrass & rose geranium.
